VIT(R)AL

VIT(R)AL — Reflections of Freedom combines the Arraiolos stitch with visual references to Portuguese tiles. The mirror integrated into the work carries the question “Are you free?”, which becomes readable through its inverted reflection on a mobile phone. Freedom, technology and the image we construct of ourselves are central to the piece. Because of its scale, the work was conceived with a modular, dismantlable structure to facilitate transport.
