O nome "Matriz" é uma homenagem às múltiplas camadas de significado que esta peça representa. Além de representar o órgão onde se gera e desenvolve um novo ser, "Matriz" simboliza também a origem e a fonte de algo novo, assim como a geração de ideias e conceitos. Esta obra utiliza o ponto de Arraiolos convencional e o invertido e, a artista, através da exploração da teoria das cores pretende criar uma narrativa visual rica e complexa. Esta peça rompe com as convenções estabelecidas, bordando o Arraiolos numa estrutura metálica de aço inoxidável, fixa, robótica como analogia do nosso estilo de vida diário. Esta obra utiliza o ponto de contorno que data as primeiras tapeçarias em ponto de Arraiolos do séc. XVI.

This artwork utilizes both the conventional and inverted Arraiolos stitch, and the artist, through the exploration of color theory, aims to create a rich and complex visual narrative. This piece breaks with established conventions by embroidering the Arraiolos on a fixed, robotic stainless steel metal structure, as an analogy to our daily lifestyle. This artwork employing the outline stitch dating back to the first Arraiolos stitch tapestries of the 16th century.
